Have you tried: - Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries - quite a light-hearted murder mystery series set in late 1920s Australia. Fun, with great costumes and some good female representation, there's a recurring side character who's a lesbian. Not much by way of queer romance though, sorry! - Elementary - Sherlock Holmes adaptation that is more buddy-cop than things like BBC Sherlock. Lucy Liu plays Watson, and she and Sherlock are friends; there's potential for a queerplatonic relationship.

Also, if you liked Howl's Moving Castle, I suggest other Studio Gihbli films! Lots have recently made their way to netflix - Spirited Away is the most well-known, but there's also Castle in the Sky, My Neighbour Totoro, Arriety (based on the Borrowers) and more :)
