Preferred Genres: Sci-fi, Fantasy, Romance, Thriller, Non-fiction/Documentary
DNW Genres: Hard core horror (I can enjoy mild horror, think The Walking Dead, early seasons of Supernatural, etc, but anything beyond that is a no go)
Preferred Media Types: TV, Films, Books, Graphic Novels, Podcasts
DNW Media Types: N/A
General Likes: Found Family, Mature couples, Broken people finding comfort in each other, multi-generational casts, diverse cast of characters
General DNWs: Graphic depictions of gore, rape/non-con, graphic depictions of torture (I'm okay with some of this happening off screen, but I just don't want to experience it first hand with the character), everybody dies at the end
Fandom Preferences: Some fic on A03 would be nice, but not strictly necessary
Requests for Content Warnings: N/A
Examples of Media Enjoyed: Supernatural, Star Trek (TOS, TNG, VOY), Stranger Things, The Old Guard, here is a link to my A03 so you can see other fandoms I have consumed and written for.
Examples of Media to Avoid:
*Star Trek: Picard, watched the first episode and I wasn't fussed on it, but I may go back to it at some point.
*The 100, I loved the early seasons, but dropped it during the trash fire that was season 6.
*Most of the MCU is meh for me, but I really enjoyed Thor: Ragnorok and Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2
Streaming Services I Can Access: HBO, but if something is on Netflix, etc, you can still rec things those things, I can often find a way to watch them, through family, etc.

The timeline slots into other Trek shows you've enjoyed, but you have to give it the first season to let it play out and not give everything away in the first episode or two. There are so many great characters and storylines and I think it's just gotten better and better. I have not tried Picard, but a couple of my Disco friends bounced out of that as well. It's decently popular in exchanges and there is a good chunk of fic out there. It's in S3 now but already promised a S4, so great time to jump in! It's ticks all of these boxes multiple times over: Found Family, Mature couples, Broken people finding comfort in each other, multi-generational casts, diverse cast of characters.
If you're up for a Older Woman/Younger Man ship, I highly highly recommend HBOs mini series Mrs. Fletcher which ticks these boxes: multi-generational cast & diverse cast of characters. Here is the Yuletide promo I did for it, which I think conveys the elevator pitch as succinctly as possible.
