Highly recommend the mysteries of Ovidia Yu. I don't remember anything particularly graphic in the ones I've read. In the Aunty Lee's series, there is a lot of reference to food, which is absolutely my thing.
Also, cosy mysteries by Livia Day, who is the alter ego of Tansy Rayner Roberts, who does fabulous fairy tale reworkings, somewhat comic, as well as a bunch of other things. The Unreal Academia sound like they might be your kind of thing. Tansy has a patreon, and subscribing there, even at the lowest level for one month, gets you access to a number of works.
For teen/ya murder mystery, Karen McManus, in particular One of Us is Lying.
Other possibilities: Her Perilous Mansions - Sean Williams (middle grade mystery), You Brought me the Ocean - Alex Sanchez (graphic novel, coming of age, queer, superhero origin story)
